Irisophy The World  More

Cultures

The major cultures and religions of the world are also mapped to the Spirits in a surprising way: each culture is mapped to the Spirit whose qualities it most lacks. If you think about it, that makes sense: we all seek what we don't have. The mapping is:

Christian Europe
from Russia to Iceland to Malta to Cyprus
the Arctic Ocean and Mediterranean, Black, North and Baltic Seas
China and the Orient
including Japan, Korea, Manchuria and Mongolia
but excluding Xinjiang and Tibet
Hindu & Muslim India
from Pakistan to Nepal to Bangladesh to Sri Lanka
the Indian Ocean
Muslim Asia & Africa
from Mauritania to Xinjiang
Buddhist & Muslim Asia & Austronesia
from Tibet to Bali and the Philippines
Anglo America & Oceania
The USA, Canada, Australia & New Zealand
the Pacific Ocean and bordering seas
Latin America
from Mexico and Cuba south
the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico
Black Africa
from Senegal to Kenya and south
Science
Antarctica
the Southern Ocean

And here's a Peters map of the world, colored to show the nine cultural areas.
